Interesting Facts
- The Beaver River is the major river of the Township, not large in size but it runs
through all three major towns Beaverton, Cannington, and Sunderland.
- All three main towns are built near this river.
- Most of these towns have old grain and saw mills that were powered by the river.
- The "Talbot River" section of the Trent Severn flows into Lake Simcoe.
- The area in the south east corner of the map is in the Kawartha Lakes water shed, the
rivers (such as the Layton River) flow into this systems.
- All other rivers and tributaries of Brock Township flow into the Lake Simcoe watershed
system.
- Lake Simcoe is approximately 48 km (30 Miles) Easterly/Westerly and 29 km (18 Miles)
North/South.

Brock Township

Lake Simcoe is situated between Lake
Ontario and Georgian Bay, with the water flowing into the lake to the east via the Trent
Canal and flowing out to Lake Couchiching and the Severn River to Georgian Bay.
