Learning Strategies

This program addresses the needs of average to above average cognitive level students who display significant educational gaps in the areas of written language and/or mathematics. Specific strategies are explicitly taught in the learning strategies class using a curriculum based focus. This program services identified students in grades 9 and 10. Senior students are supported by the Academic Resource teacher.

Multi-Exceptionalities

The Multi-Exceptionalities Program provides a service for students identified as having two or more exceptionalities that significantly affect their education. An individualized program is provided for each student, and includes the student in as many aspects of school programming as possible. It delivers resource support to students in both academic and technical areas as well as programs in the areas of skills for independent living and participation in the community.

Senior Modified

This program is designed to meet the needs of the concrete learner who has significant academic gaps in the areas of written language and mathematics. The program goal is to improve reading comprehension skills in order to facilitate success in the community and workplace. Integration is highly emphasized in this program with the support of resource staff (e.g. educational assistants, resource teachers).

Deaf and Hard of Hearing

This program provides specialized services, direct instruction, and regular classroom support to students with significant hearing and communication difficulties. Students in this program may require the use of audio equipment, and/or the services of an interpreter within the classroom setting.
