Scott Central is located in the town of Sandford, north west of Uxbridge. The school was built to amalgamate several small, rural schools serving the adjacent communities of Zephyr, Udora and Leaskdale. Scott Central has a student population of approximately 380 students and a staff of 35 caring, dedicated professionals consisting of teachers, Educational Assistants, and custodial staff.
The school provides Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 classes and classrooms contain a range of students with varying needs and abilities. We are strong promoters of inclusion and support practices for the inclusion of children with special needs through a service delivery model that utilizes our Educational Assistants. This year, we are fortunate to have the addition of a Resource Class, which is designed to provide programming for our junior and intermediate identified students.
Our staff and community has collaborated to develop a mission statement and vision of Scott Central P.S. Our mission is to represent the values and expectations of the community. We promote and encourage academic excellence within a caring and responsible school environment. We are truly Together in Education with our parents and students. Scott Central’s vision is to create a responsible, inclusive community of life long learners who are productive, principled citizens able to work collaboratively in a technologically advancing global community. We have also created core value statements that reflect our commitment to students, to each other and articulate our beliefs about learning. We Saddle Up For Success and believe It’s Cool To Care.
