Uxbridge Public School, built in 1911 on the site of the first local school, is part of the history and fabric of Uxbridge Township. Most of the older residents and many younger adults are graduates of this heritage school.

However, we are not resting on our laurels! Uxbridge Public School has some of the most vibrant and creative programs available anywhere in the Durham Region.

Just look at us!

We are a dual-track school of 460 students. Our French Immersion program at L'École Publique d'Uxbridge is a distinctive course of study. We are one of only 11 schools in the Durham Region to offer this unique opportunity. Our French Immersion students develop verbal fluency in French and have achieved excellent results on the English Provincial EQAO assessment.

The English Side of U.P.S. is smaller in student population but enjoys all the extra programs and initiatives that make our school so special.

Students from both tracks share many classes as well as co-curricular activities such as Band, sports teams and dramatic performances.

Mission Statement

Uxbridge Public School is dedicated to the growth of the whole child, academically, socially, emotionally and physically, by providing a supportive, caring environment to encourage individual students to reach their potential in order to meet tomorrow's challenges.

By precept and example, staff, students and community will cooperatively strive to meet individual physical , emotional and intellectual needs and promote a feeling of self-worth in order to succeed in life.
